Muffato "Stramej" 2009

Muffato "Stramej" is produced from botrytis grapes harvested in early November, the morning fog encourages the development of Botrytis Cinerea or "noble rot" on the grape bunches. This process reduces the water content of the grapes and concentrate the sugars and flavors, giving the Muffato a harmonious and unique taste.
The first vintage was in 2009 and is composed of 100% Moscato grapes.
Muffato "Stramej" is a golden yellow color with aromas reminiscent of peaches and honey. A dessert wine, well structured and well-balanced, with a slight acidity that blends well with the natural residual sugar.
Vinification:
The grapes for Muffato "Stramej" are from the vineyards of Pelissero Pasquale in Neive, located between 200 and 300 meters above sea level in clayey-calcareous soil. The grapes with Botrytis cinerea ("noble rot") arrived in the cellar with an excellent balance of sweet and aromatic concentration. The harvest is always done by hand to ensure careful selection of grapes and picking continued until the end of November. The morning fog has secured a good presence of noble rot and the afternoon sun helped with the drying of the bunches.
After pressing, the juice has fermented for about 20 days at a temperature of about 17 ° C. The wine is then aged in French oak barriques (Allier and Troncais) for about 6 months, then blended and bottled.
